The renowned publisher has appointed Ben Brinkman from Respawn Entertainment to oversee the studio crew at their internal studio, which is currently developing the upcoming third-person action-packed title known as Project Ethos.
Leadership Shift Comes After Poor Feedback
The new appointee assumes the role of studio head at 31st Union following the dismissal of former leader the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to Project Ethos' underwhelming initial reveal last fall.
Recently, 2K president a key figure notified staff about this strategic move through an official communication, which stressed that playtesting had indicated the necessity for a distinct vision.
The president expressed that the developers is now overhauling Project Ethos with a revised focus, aiming to better meet community desires.
Trend of Strategic Acquisitions
This announcement echoes a similar step taken by the publisher in the summer, when they recruited Rod Fergusson from Blizzard to contribute to the BioShock development group.
